This Boy Scout Merit Badge University (MBU) with a focus on the outdoors, wildlife, and conservation, is a partnership between Circle Ten Council and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department at TFFC. It's an all-day event with 3-hour sessions in the morning and afternoon. Tentative offering: Trail to First Class, 3-hour conservation project (for Life Scout requirement) and 22 merit badges!
- Cost
- $20 for Scouts
- $10 for adult Scout leaders
- BBQ lunch and a patch included
Make it a fun family event! Family members are invited to come and enjoy a visit to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, a world-class museum and 90-acre facility that combines visitation and outdoor education with a production fish hatchery. Its mission is to provide an educational, entertaining visitor experience that promotes freshwater sport fishing and the enhancement, conservation, and stewardship of aquatic resources in Texas.
Admission to the Center for family members is separate from Scout admission to the MBU event. However, families choosing to visit the TFFC while their Scout(s) attend the MBU may purchase meal tickets at $10 each and have lunch with their Scout. Meal tickets will be available for purchase on the MBU registration page on the Circle Ten Council website or on site at TFFC. Nearby tent camping is available.
