Lake Athens Water Body Record

Lake Athens has a new water body record, and the Angler Recognition Program is highlighting it as the Catch of the Month for September 2026. Jason Ebert submitted a 36.3‑pound blue catfish that was caught on a 10.5‑inch plastic worm. That must have been a surprise for the angler. With cooler weather ahead, even more records may be set or broken across the state.

One interesting photo will be selected by our staff and showcased on the Angler Recognition Program website each month. Send us a good photograph of the fish and the angler and your catch may be selected!

Submission Guidelines:

Photos must be submitted in conjunction with an ARP application for any of our award categories.
Photos may be mailed or emailed but must be high quality and clear.
