Caprock Canyons State Park and Trailway is located southeast of Amarillo, where the high plains end in the dramatic red bluffs and canyons of the Caprock escarpment. The park is home to the official Texas bison herd, direct descendants of the last free range southern plains bison. Cedar Hill State Park, Texas


Cedar Hill State Park is nature oasis located just 30 minutes from the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex. It makes an ideal destination for city dwellers who want to enjoy the great outdoors without spending a lot of time driving. The park sits along the Joe Pool reservoir, making it a great spot for fishing, swimming, picnicking and camping. There is also a marina for boating and supplies. The park's Penn Farm Agricultural Center features historic farm buildings and guided and self-guided tours.
