State Park Friends Groups and Support Organizations

Many state parks have organized groups that actively support their park. These nonprofit organizations, sometimes called "friends groups," help with daily programs, special events, fundraising and public education. These groups serve as important links to local communities and park user groups, as well.

These partnerships let us use the skills, contacts and resources of private citizens and businesses to make state parks better and to provide services that might not be available.

Friends groups continue to organize around the state to support our Texas State Parks. For information about forming a group, talk to your favorite park’s superintendent.
