You will be bending, swinging, carrying and using hand tools, and walking long distances. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be with a legal guardian. Wear long sleeves and pants, comfortable/sturdy shoes and a hat. Please check in at park headquarters when you arrive. Upper Canyon 1/2 Day Guided Hike

THIS EVENT REQUIRES REGISTRATION.This guided-only hike takes you into the remote upper sections of Seminole Canyon boundaries, where the participants will be led to several remnant-sites of the Southern Pacific railroad-era (1882--1892) and to the Seminole Watering Hole, a historical stopover/camp site for the U.S. Army's Detachment Black Seminole-Indian Scouts and their Lt. John L. Bullis.

Visitors can watch us mow the grass with a scythe, and they can help with the process of turning it into hay. Raking, drying, and mounding the hay into hay rows and hay cocks, will culminate with good weather, helping us to store it for later use.
